You may have noticed that there are some extra walls up in the CMU these days–that’s because construction on the C-Store has begun! We’re excited to have Diversified Contractors, Inc. at the helm of the project.
The first step in the construction project, according to Interim Director Layne Anderson, is demolition. The contractor has completed about 95% of the necessary demolition, which included general demolition (such as walls, counters, shelving), mechanical, and electrical.
Anderson warned that there will be some noise associated with the project, especially when the contractor needs to grind down part of the cement floor to prep for the new tiling. Maybe we’ll have to hand out ear plug for students to study!
We are excited to see how progress on the C-Store comes along in the next weeks as they begin framing up the new space.
